Philosophy for all of the Center Programs: Creative Curriculum Approach to Early Childhood

The Wesley House Child Development Centers have implemented the Creative Curriculum approach to early childhood services. For children ages birth to five years of age, this involves learning to trust others outside their families, to gain independence and self-control, and to take initiative and assert themselves in socially acceptable ways. Children learn by doing. In the process of being actively involved children learn:

•  Concrete Thinking

•  Learning from the Environment

•  Development of Language

•  Learning to Think in Terms of Numbers, Classes and Relationships

•  Developing Language and Thinking Skills
