Wesley House Family Services offers the community a variety of parenting workshops to enrich and strengthen families. These include:
Nurturing Parenting Program - Ages 0-5
Parents will learn about recognizing and understanding feelings, infant and child nurturing touch, nurturing parenting routines, alternatives to hitting, child development, and ways to build self-esteem and self-concept in self and child.
Nurturing Parenting Program - Ages 5-11
Parents and children increase their empathy, learn nurturing ways to encourage appropriate behaviors, build self-esteem and self-concept for self and child, and learn to have fun as a family.
Nurturing Parenting Program for Parents and Adolescents
Families learn nurturing communication strategies, how to recognize each other’s needs, how to understand the period of adolescence, and ways to build their own personal power, self-esteem and self-concept. Families also discuss pregnancy delay, sex, sexuality, AIDS, suicide, and peer pressure.
