Our program has achieved “Gold Seal” accreditation through the Florida Department of Children and Families, international accreditation through the Council on Accreditation (COA) and is certified as an “Eco-Healthy Child Care” site.

Wesley House operates the Inez Martin Child Development Center in Key West.
- We practice the Creative Curriculum approach to early childhood learning which includes using computers, arts and crafts, field trips and outdoor activities for a diverse learning experience.
- Offer Florida’s free Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten program to four-year olds.
- All children receive a free nutritional meal program offering breakfasts, lunches and afternoon snacks.
- Our Center is smoke-free and wheelchair accessible, allowing access for children with special needs. English and Spanish are spoken fluently.
- We are a contracted provider with the Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe.
In 2012, Inez Martin began a “Backpack for Kids” program. This program sends home every Friday child friendly food to those children determined eligible for the weekend.
The program allows for siblings in the home ages 2-12 to receive the same backpack of food. The backpack contains “child friendly” food with a focus on whole grains and limited sugars. Fresh fruit and vegetables from the local mission is shared with the families on a twice a week basis.

Florida Legislature established the Gold Seal Quality Care program to acknowledge child care facilities and family day care homes that are accredited by nationally recognized agencies and whose standards reflect quality in the level of care and supervision provided to children.
In December 2004, Voluntary Prekindergarten ( VPK ) legislation was passed and signed into law. This bill requires participating child care facilities and homes to maintain quality care accreditation and higher education standards for staff. The Gold Seal Quality Care Program is an approved accreditation for child care providers to be eligible to participate in VPK.
We celebrated our littlest scholars from the VPK Class at Inez Martin Child Development Center In Key West! We are so proud of their accomplishments and know that they will continue to shoot for the stars!
