Dear Friends,
Welcome summer! Through the generosity of our donors, many of the kids in care will attend summer camps over the next two months and make special memories they will cherish always.

Dear Friends,
December was a joyful and busy season at Wesley House! The 5th Annual Holiday Village & BeLighted Bike Ride attracted 1800 revelers inside the Holiday Village and about 3500 festive bike riders! We are incredibly grateful to the many sponsors and volunteers who made this event the best one yet!
Our halls in all three of our offices were filled with toys provided by various community groups and personalized wrapped gifts for 195 families through our “Adopt-a-Family” gifting campaign. Santa Claus visited the children at Inez Martin Preschool and delivered new tennis shoes provided by the congregation of Key West United Methodist Church. Our Healthy Families program celebrated with “Cookies with Santa” at our Key West and Key Largo offices. December was filled with joy!

Dear Friends,
As the holiday season approaches, there are many meaningful ways you can make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community. Whether you’re looking to give back through donations, sponsorships, or by opening your heart and home, there’s a way for everyone to get involved.

Dear Friends,
The season of giving has arrived, and our hearts are full of gratitude for you – our caring community. In times when many nonprofits are struggling, your support keeps hope alive for the families we serve.

Dear Friends,
With each issue of In The Shade of the Tree, our Development Team asks, ‘What can we include this month?’ Once we start, we realize that we have a lot to share and Wesley House has been busy! As summer winds down and a new school year begins, we’re gearing up for an exciting season filled with opportunities to connect, give back, volunteer, and make a real difference in our community. Whether you’re ready to dive into the fun at The Big Splash, looking to light up the holidays through our Holiday Village and BeLighted Bike Ride, or hoping to make a deeper impact by becoming a foster parent, there’s a place for you here.

Dear Friends,
July marks the start of our new Fiscal Year. It’s a time when we review the accomplishments and statistics of the past fiscal year in preparation for our Annual Report. We have much to be proud of. We are proud of the important, good work our staff has done, and we are proud of their commitment to serving the children and families of Monroe County, and now South Miami-Dade.
Our accomplishments are nothing without the support of this amazing, generous community. We cannot do the work that we do, helping struggling families to realize their full potential and help them overcome their hurdles so that they can be just that – a family, without your support. Thank you.
We are excited for the new fiscal year, serving more families, and our events and fundraisers, including our newest endeavors – The Big Splash and Palms to Peaks! Keep reading for all the details.
We wish you a joyous and safe 4th of July!
